Description

This vitamin-rich vegetable is a real surprise. The succulent fleshy leaves of this Japanese herb (Salsola komarovii) taste inherently salty, giving your dishes a surprising flavor.

When it comes to growing, the plants are extremely tough and do not need very much fertilizer. They survive droughts with little water and after a few weeks are ready for harvest. They are similar to spinach and can be sown in rows, but in tufts. Harvest the young leaves and shoots. You can cook them, add them to wok dishes or use chopped as a condiment in salads. 'Osaka' is grows fast, and is very productive and robust.
