Description
Interesting, large onion variety. This type of onion is also known as a butcher's onion due to its size and mild, spicy taste, for example in 'Döner Kebab'. For top yields of 1-1.5 kg onions, sow in small pots in January and continue to grow at 15°C. Planting begins in May.
Our tips:
- After germination, thin them out soon (surplus seedlings are delicious as microgreens)
- Harvest when the leaves start to yellow and bend over
- Protect against onion fly infestation with vegetable nets and crop rotation
- Can be used for cooking or consumed raw
