A well-known dyeing plant for wool and silk with strong yellow-orange to red flowers, ideal for drying for flower arrangements.
The pollen threads from saffron adds beautiful colour to rice dishes, turning them yellow. The seeds are used for the production of thistle oil.
A wonderful food for birds!
Sow: Sow in April / May outdoors- sow broadly. Does not like to be transplanted!
