Bionana Organic True Chamomile

The true chamomile is a valuable medicinal plant with many beneficial properties. The pretty white and yellow flowers are not only very pretty, they can also be processed into teas, ointments, tinctures and more.

Our tips:

• Requires loose, nutrient-poor, loamy to sandy soil
• The soil should be well prepared and weeds removed thoroughly
• Since chamomile is sensitive to the pH value of the soil, it should possibly be enriched with ripe compost
• Care should be taken not to water too much when planted in the garden
• The plant needs more water in a pot
• Fertilising with potassium increases the yield, but phosphorus and nitrogen should be used with caution
• The first chamomile heads should not be harvested
• Older flowers contain fewer active ingredients - so harvesting at the right time is important
• Harvesting at lunchtime is particularly recommended, as the heads then contain most of the essential oils
• After the harvest, the heads should not be washed, but dried immediately
• Medium consumption of nutrients
