Description
The large edible banana is very well suited for cultivation in pots and bears edible fruit after about three years. A bright location with high humidity is very beneficial for the plant. In summer, a warm, partial-shade spot against a sheltered wall is also a good choice.
Tips for cultivation:
- Roughen the seeds slightly with sandpaper
- Then soak in water for approx. 12 hours
- Scatter the seeds onto moist potting soil and cover lightly
- Cover with cling film and poke holes in it
- Remove the film for approx. 2 hours every two to three days
- The substrate should be kept moist but not wet
