Saflax African Tulip Tree

This evergreen tree is ideally suited for cultivation in tubs. After a few years, it produces stunning orange and red blossoms nestled among its attractive pinnate leaves. The flowers open successively, blooming repeatedly over several weeks.

Our tips:

• Cover the seeds lightly with soil
• Cover the container with cling film to prevent hte soil from drying out and poke holes for ventilation
• Remove the film every two to three days for about two hours to prevent mould growth
• Place the cultivation container in a bright and warm location at 20 to 25°C
• Keep the soil surface moist but not wet
• Can be placed outdoors in summer
• Requires nutrient-rich, well-drained soil with gravel or expanded clay content
• Ensure a constant water supply, but avoid waterlogging
• Fertilise every 10 days from April to October
• Repot into a larger container every one to two years
• Overwinter in a bright spot at room temperature, but away from heat sources such as radiators
