Fodder radishes grow rapidly, bringing strong leaf growth in a very short time. They also form deep taproots. The root mass is very high. The fodder radish is also known as "vertical drainage for the ground" because of its strong roots. The susceptibility to clubroot is not as strong as in other types of plants. Even in the seedlings stage it provides a lot of shade. Not winter hardy.
