Description
The switchgrass is native to the plains of North America and is also called prairie grass. The grass reaches a height of up to 2.5 m and has 20 to 40 cm leaves.
It is used in the USA as a pasture grass and for protection against soil erosion. The roots grow 4 m long and are able to grow in sandy and dry soil. In Europe, the plant is mainly used as an ornamental plant and for soil cultivation.
