This seed-propagated species (Cymbopogon flexuosus) differs from the true lemongrass (Cympopogon citratus), which can only be propagated by division and grows with strong bulbs. Lemongrass is used in Southeast Asian cooking and tea preparation. The flavour is strong, sour, and lemon-like.
