Lilies are a genus of the lily family with about 110 species.
Originally from the Himalayas, they have now spread to the northern hemisphere. Lilies are among the oldest garden plants. In Asia you can find them used as ornamental plants as well as food or medicine.
The Lily is valued in many cultures and is very symbolic. Among other things it stands for purity and faith. The lily is undoubtedly one of the most elegant plants with quite the bewitching scent. Unlike other bulbs, lily bulbs have no firm outer skin. These beautiful flowers bloom both in the garden and in pots, for an impressive effect and are excellent as cut flowers.
