Sonnenerde Soil Activator, 20 l

The Soil Activator stimulates the formation of stable humus in the soil, ensuring plants are optimally supplied with essential nutrients and trace elements. You will notice the effects on plant growth almost immediately after application. With consistent use over several years, this soil activator transforms your earth into "Terra Preta", a rich, fertile soil that eventually becomes so self-sustaining it requires no additional fertiliser.

Trace elements and nutrients are captured on the surface and within the pores of the biochar. They are retained and remain available, allowing plants to draw exactly what they need as they grow. By introducing active humus biology, the activator is absorbed by existing soil organisms and converted into long-lasting soil humus.

Production Process:

To create this high-quality blend, biochar is combined with rock meal and horn shavings and mixed into an active compost heap during its peak humus-building phase. During this time, nitrogen from the horn shavings is released and bound into fungal protein. The surface of the biochar, in combination with this nitrogen, provides an ideal habitat for beneficial fungal biology to thrive. After 4–6 weeks, the process is complete, and the finished soil activator is screened through an 8 mm mesh to remove the bulk of the compost.

Application:

• For Pots & Containers: To enrich existing potting soil, we recommend adding 3–5% soil activator (approx. 3–5 litres per 100 litres of soil).
• Mixing: Ensure the activator is thoroughly blended with your substrate.
• For Garden Beds: Use 6–10 litres per square metre. Spread the activator across the surface and lightly rake it into the top layer of soil.
• Safety: There is no known risk of over-fertilisation with this product. In scientific trials, substrates containing up to 10% activator have consistently shown excellent results.

General Rule: The poorer the quality of your soil, the more activator you can use to see an immediate nutrient boost. In high-quality soils, while the immediate nutrient effect might be more subtle, the long-term humus-building benefit remains constant and is actually more efficient in healthier soil environments!

Please note: This soil activator should be treated as a concentrated fertiliser rather than a potting soil. Do not exceed a 10% mix in any substrate.
