Description
The beautiful spring flowers have an early flowering time are sometimes confused with the snowdrops. Summer Snowflakes differ from snowdrops by their higher growth, broader leaves and greenish yellow, petal tips. The flowers have a distinctive bell shape and are rarely seen in pairs on a stem. The name means white violets.
The protected plants are native to floodplains and mixed deciduous forests and love rich, well drained soil, which should not dry out. It is well suited for naturalizing and undisturbed, gradually multiplies.The early bloomers are a valuable source of food for insects. Summer Snowflakes are suitable for cutting. The onions should not hung due to the risk of dehydration.
