Description
With its fine taste and its decorative red-green colours, this type of chard is a very special delicacy. Its mild, sweet aroma and its pleasant spiciness make this Swiss chard the ideal vegetable for side dishes. The young leaves also taste great in salads.
Our tips:
- Requires a loose, deep, loamy, sandy, humus-rich and evenly moist soil
- Regular watering during dry periods promotes even growth and tenderness of the leaves
- Undemanding & uncomplicated
- Forms roots up to 100cm deep
- Harvesting the outer leaves is recommended - the heart should be left intact
- Medium nutritional requirements
- Suitable for balconies
- Pure seedlines
- Good neighbours: cabbages, lettuce, beets, legumes
- Bad neighbours: cucumber, spinach, tomato
